Cadaver search dogs assist gendarmerie teams in challenging tasks in disaster zones such as earthquakes, floods, avalanches, landslides, and unnatural building collapses, playing a crucial role in finding missing bodies. Cadaver search dogs within the Gendarmerie Commando Special Public Security Command (JÖAK) of the Gendarmerie General Command are a vital aid to the teams, thanks to their ability to locate bodies in water, land, forests, mud, and even in the most difficult to reach locations. Cadaver search dogs, especially those capable of detecting difficult-to-detect bodies in areas affected by disasters such as floods and earthquakes, support teams in the field. Training, which begins at the Gendarmerie Horse and Dog Training Center (JAKEM), continues until the dogs' lifetime. The aim of this training is to improve the dogs' perception level, and there is no time limit for the training conducted within the unit. Cadaver search dogs are trained by placing cadaver parts on a dummy.
