Hydraulic modelling using Wanda
How to use Wanda. Wanda is a software tool that we use at Fluid Mechanics to do surge or Water Hammer analysis http://www.fluidmechanics.co.uk/hydra... . In the video we demonstrate how to set up a basic model of two tanks connected by a long pipeline. We then show what happens if a valve in the pipeline is closed and how it induces surge pressures as the flow between the two tanks is stopped. Wanda uses the method of characteristics to solve the surge or water hammer equations. The Wanda software is produced by Deltares
