In this straightforward, no-nonsense video, you'll follow the restoration of a DiGiorgio number 16, manufactured in 1987. I explain in detail why these guitars tend to warp and lift at the bridge, resulting in extremely high string action. Since replacing the top is often financially unfeasible for the client, I present the "trick": a technical method of internal reinforcement using cedar blocks and a "sandwich" system with screws and washers. You'll learn about the importance of the harmonic fan bracing, how to finish the internal parts (the famous "tananã") to maintain the woody sound, and how this technique eliminates the top warping. Beyond the structure, I show the finishing touches with a new bone nut and saddle, tuning peg replacement, and the final sound test.
