Grand Traverse sheriff seeks terrorism charges for man after Walmart stabbing

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office is requesting Bradford Gille, 42 of Afton Michigan, be charged with terrorism and 11 counts of assault with intent to murder after a stabbing at the Traverse City Walmart Saturday. Sheriff Mike Shea at a Sunday press conference said Gille has a history of assaultive incidents and controlled substance violations. Shea described the weapon as a 3.5 inch folding knife. Shea alongside County Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg, Munson Medical Center President Joe Hurshe and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tom Schermerhorn held a briefing Sunday. Moeggenberg said her office is looking to authorize charges Monday. Schermerhorn said one victim has been released from the hospital. 10 remain in the hospital’s care.
