Baby Let Me Get Close To You ~ Baby Washington and Don Gardner
Soul legend Justine "Baby" Washington's 1960's recording career included records like The Time, I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby, That's How Heartaches Are Made, It'll Never Be Over For Me, Think About The Good Times, Don't Let Me Lose This Dream ...in 1972 she teamed up with another Soul legend, Don Gardner (echoing his early 60's duets with Dee Dee Ford) and in 1973 they had a hit on Master Five records with their cover version of The Marvelettes 'Forever' which had the great Baby Let Me Get Close To You on the flipside, a track that had already been released as the A side of the debut Master Five 45 the previous year and got released as a B side again in 1974. The UK got it as the flip of Forever on The UK People label in 1973 ................. Metropolitan Soul Fave Rave ! #MetropolitanSoul @MetropolitanSoul
