Dűvő Koncert Los Angelesben | Hungarian Folk Music in California

Dénes and Szabolcs Hrúz from the renowned Dűvő Band gave a wonderful concert in Los Angeles at the St. Stephen Hungarian Catholic Church in collaboration with Kárpátok Folk Ensemble, Kürtőskalács Band and the LA Táncház with István Szabó. Dűvő Band, founded in 1976 in Salgótarján, is one of Hungary’s most respected and longest-running folk ensembles. Led by the Hrúz brothers — Dénes (prímás/violin) and Szabolcs (violin) — the band has been a cornerstone of the Hungarian táncház (dance house) movement for nearly five decades. They specialize in authentic folk music from the Carpathian Basin, preserving traditional melodies, rhythms, and styles with exceptional skill and energy. This special evening in LA brought together powerful Hungarian folk vocals, dynamic string playing, and vibrant live dances for an unforgettable celebration of Hungarian culture in the diaspora.
