Laura Pausini (Solarolo, 16 May 1974) is an Italian singer who is very popular in the Italian and Spanish-speaking world. She also has many followers in Belgium and the Netherlands. After Italy, the Netherlands was the first country where the singer was successful. She sings in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and English. She has a warm, powerful voice with a large range of voices. Her songs are mainly about love, but Laura also sings about peace, poverty and racism. She was officially discovered by producer Angelo Valsiglio during the annual San Remo festival. The then 18-year-old Laura won the festival with the song “La Solitudine” in 1993. This number also formed her international breakthrough. “Lettera” is the second single from her second album “Laura”. The first single was “Strani Amori”.
