Overland Truck Tour: Multiple Reasons why THIS 1st Gen Tundra is the Holy Grail of 4x4 Nomad Rigs
Hey Everyone! This is my friend Leo. He was kind enough to give us a walk around tour of his truck and explain why he feels as though he's returned to his childhood roots by overlanding. He drives a 2005 Toyota Tundra which has some special features. It's not quite as big as the current full-size trucks but it's larger than a mid-size. The truck bed is 6 inches deeper allowing for more storage and headroom with your platform build inside the topper. The engine/drive train is legendary for durability and you can get about any aftermarket part you want for this truck. This will be the direction I go next when I'm done with my current rig. The term "off-the-grid" traditionally refers to not being connected to the electrical grid, but can also include other utilities like water, gas, and sewer systems, and can scale from residential homes to small communities. Self-sufficient means needing no outside help in satisfying one's basic needs, especially about the production of food, and homesteading means living a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. So by those definitions, the key to homesteading is learning to be self-sufficient.
