Teletexto: historia y curiosidades de un servicio de información por televisión en desuso.
Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel! In this video, I'm going to tell you the history and interesting facts about Teletext, a text-based information service that (still today) is broadcast in several countries along with the television signal. Teletext was invented in 1972 by John Adams, a Philips technician, and first incorporated into television in 1974 on the BBC. It emerged as an information method and proved very useful for many people with hearing impairments. In Spain, Teletext first appeared on Televisión Española (TVE) in 1988 (although tests had been carried out previously), and it gradually spread to other channels. Although it has disappeared from many countries, it is still offered in others, such as Spain, Germany, and Italy. Until the arrival and democratization of the internet, Teletext was a very useful method of accessing information: subtitles, TV listings, news, weather, lotteries, and horoscopes were all part of its content. Its navigation method is reminiscent of a very rudimentary internet. We'll test Teletext on an LG TV from 2008 and then view it on the RTVE website. I hope you enjoy the video. Feel free to comment. Thank you so much for watching, see you in the next video. Best regards. ------------ Hello friends, welcome back to my channel!
