Authorities report that the aftermath has been addressed, but local residents say the problem hasn't been addressed for years. Our channel's correspondent visited the village of Troitskaya and spoke with people who survived the first hours of the flood threat. Residents describe how they reinforced the dam themselves, carried sandbags, and tried to stop the flood. According to them, the riverbeds and protective structures had not been maintained for a long time, and now people fear another breach. The village of Zapadny is completely flooded; police officers are currently stationed at the entrance, preventing people from entering. Local residents also claim that after attempting to raise the issue, local authorities spoke with them and asked them not to make the situation public.
