Training for Utah's Most Difficult Hike

After losing 90 pounds and over 500 days of sobriety, I realized something: Losing weight doesn't automatically mean you're in shape. In this video, I begin a brand-new challenge: training for King's Peak, the highest mountain in Utah at 13,528 feet. As a guy in his 40s who works an IT desk job and spends most of the day behind a computer, I know what it's like to feel out of shape, overwhelmed, and unsure where to start. Instead of jumping straight into difficult hikes, I'm taking the slow and steady approach. Today's adventure takes us to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge Trail in Draper, Utah—a relatively easy hike with incredible views, a suspension bridge, waterfalls, wildlife warnings, and plenty of opportunities to test my cardio (which definitely needs work). After the hike, I stop at a local breakfast food truck for what might be one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in a long time. This video is the first chapter in what will likely be a year-long series as I work toward standing on the summit of Utah's tallest mountain. If you've ever felt out of shape, struggled with weight loss, battled addiction, or simply wanted to spend more time outdoors, I hope you'll come along for the journey. If I can do it, you can too. 👍 Like, Subscribe, and Follow Along New hiking, camping, van life, travel, and outdoor adventure videos regularly. #hiking #utahhiking #weightlossjourney #sobriety #outdoors #mountains #hikingadventures #fitnessjourney #weightloss #utah #kingspeak #camping #vanlife #trailhiking #bearcanyon #suspensionbridge #middleagedfitness #nature #hikingvlog #outdoorlife
