I miscalculated! India is a vast country, and this journey teaches me humility every day. I assumed that as a solo traveler, I would cover the distance from Mumbai to Bangalore by land, but reality thwarted my plans in Pune – from where there were still 1,000 kilometers to go. My important meeting was approaching inexorably, so I had to act quickly. I bought a plane ticket for the next day to make it on time.
