It had been a month since we'd last sailed, except within the Toau atoll, and seasickness was definitely a factor on this short sail to Anse Amyot, despite the relatively calm sea conditions. Sometimes, when I'm seasick, I wonder what I'm doing on a boat! After eight years of sailing, seasickness has never left me, and I've tried everything! In short, the reward is reaching magnificent, idyllic places. Despite the discomfort of sailing, I love this lifestyle on the water... Located at the northwest tip of the Toau atoll, Anse Amyot lies in a false pass, meaning a passage in the coral reef that surrounds the atoll but doesn't allow entry into the lagoon. Anse Amyot is an excellent sheltered anchorage and a wonderful diving site. On land, Gaston and Valentine welcome visiting sailors and run a guesthouse. They were away when we visited...
