PSA Shut Down... So I Bought a $16 Wax Box to Grade in October

PSA shut down Value tier grading on June 2nd and every collector panicked. I went to my local card shop and spent $16. Here's the strategy nobody is talking about. PSA's shutdown killed the grader-buyer market — the collectors buying raw cards specifically to submit to PSA. With that buyer pool gone, vintage wax prices dropped significantly. This 1990 Fleer Premiere Edition football wax box was sitting at $16 because nobody wanted it. I did. Why? Because PSA Value tiers are reopening around October 2026 at $24.99 per card. Not $80. $24.99. And the math on vintage junk wax changes completely at that price. Here's what I need from this box: Barry Sanders PSA 10 → $94 sold — minus $24.99 = $53 profit Barry Sanders All Pro PSA 10 → $150 sold — minus $24.99 = $109 profit Bo Jackson PSA 10 → $125 sold — minus $24.99 = $84 profit Joe Montana/Jerry Rice PSA 10 → $75 sold — minus $24.99 = $34 profit I'm pulling the best cards today, putting them in top loaders, and holding them until October when Value tiers reopen. Then I'm submitting at $24.99 instead of $80. This is Part 1. Part 2 drops when PSA sends the grades back. 🔗 PSA Backlog Tracker: https://www.psacard.com/info/backlog-... 📌 What's covered: Why PSA's shutdown actually created a buying opportunity The exact math on grading vintage wax at $24.99 vs $80 Why vintage wax prices dropped 50% since June 2nd Opening a full 1990 Fleer Premiere Edition football wax box Which cards I'm holding for PSA submission in October 🔔 Subscribe for honest sports card content — PSA updates, vintage rips, flea market flips, and the real numbers behind the hobby. 📬 Drop a comment — are you buying cheap wax right now to grade when PSA reopens?
