🚐 Epic 4x4 Crossing of Sud Lipez: From the Bolivian Border to Uyuni 350km Here we are, embarking on an assault on Sud Lipez, this wild and spectacular region of Bolivia, on the edge of the Altiplano. From the Chilean border, our 4x4 truck tackles muddy tracks, icy ruts, and snowy sections at an altitude of nearly 5,000 meters. A true mechanical and human adventure! 🌋 Laguna Verde & Licancabur First visual shock: Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. The wild wind stirs up the dust and the magic happens. The lagoon, a surreal green, seems to have been placed there to welcome us into another world. 🌋 Sol de Mañana: Hell Beneath Our Feet We continue toward the geothermal fields of Sol de Mañana. Boiling mud pits, hissing fumaroles, a persistent smell of sulfur… The ground seems alive, unstable, ready to explode. It's raw, it's wild, it's Bolivia. 🏞️ Laguna Colorada, Flamingos at High Altitude Between flooded areas and patches of snow, our Fuso 4x4 progresses slowly but surely to the legendary Laguna Colorada, a deep red dotted with flamingos. The silence is total. We feel tiny, privileged. 🛤️ Track to Uyuni: From Corrugated Iron to the Endless Horizon Every kilometer is a challenge. Sand, stones, rivers to cross, steep slopes, and sometimes… no track at all. Fortunately, our sturdy mount holds firm. After several timeless days, we reach Uyuni, dusty and lunar, the gateway to the famous Salar del Salá. 🌍 An unforgettable itinerary, between extremes and pure beauty. This section of the South Lipez will remain etched in your memory.
