"I'm leaving this world": At 76, Daniel Lavoie admits to a serious health problem His full name is Daniel Joseph Hubert Gérald Lavoie, born in Dunrea, Manitoba, in a French-speaking community in the middle of the English-speaking province. He is bilingual. His father managed the general store.[3] His mother loves music,[4] and Daniel has been learning to play the piano since the age of 4. He studied at the Collège de Saint-Boniface (Saint-Boniface, Manitoba).[5] In 1988, he married Louise Dubuc, with whom he has one child. They divorced in 2017. In 2021, Daniel Lavoie moved to Bologna, Italy, with his new partner, Yulia Baranova. They then moved to Paris. They married in the summer of 2025.[6],[7]
