Boyolali (Public Relations) – An atmosphere of grief enveloped the repatriation of a prospective Hajj pilgrim from Blora, Sutrisno (54), who reportedly died of shortness of breath. Hajj Pilgrimage Organizers (PPIH) from the Solo Embarkation Office handed over Sutrisno's body to the Regent of Blora Regency, Regional Hajj Officials, and his family on Saturday (May 9). The deceased was known to have departed for the Hajj pilgrimage with his wife, Titik Nurhayati, in group 46 of the SOC. According to his wife, on the way to the Holy Land, the deceased experienced a health emergency and required medical treatment at Kualanamu Airport, North Sumatra. The pilgrim was then intensively treated at Amri Tambunan Regional Hospital, Lubuk Pakam, Deli Serdang Regency, for two days. After receiving treatment from the medical team, the deceased was pronounced dead on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:40 a.m. WIB. The handover ceremony was carried out by the Head of the Solo Embarkation PPIH, Fitriyanto, to the Regional Officer of the Blora Regency Ministry of Hajj Office and the deceased's family. The ceremony followed procedures for handling deceased Hajj pilgrims, while prioritizing respect and service to the pilgrims and their families. "On behalf of the Solo Embarkation PPIH, I extend my condolences to the deceased's family. Mr. Sutrisno's rights will be covered by the Hajj officials, and he will receive insurance in the amount of the amount paid," he said. Since the arrival of the body, the Solo Embarkation PPIH has ensured that all stages of the process are orderly, from receiving the body at the airport to handing it over to the family.
