Lidl Glider RC Conversion - was it one crash too many? :(

My 2nd Lidl glider conversion (Wish version) was very difficult to fly as it would climb hard as soon as more than half power was applied. Moving the CoG forward a little and increasing down-thrust improved things, but with a few crashes on the way . Was the last one terminal?
