La Grange started writing songs in her bedroom at 15 before venturing out into the open mic circuit in her hometown of Watford. Graduating with a degree in philosophy from Cambridge University, she began to record demos in studio downtime with producers she met on the live circuit. Between part-time jobs, she messaged promoters online & found a home playing London’s Communion & Chess Club nights, going on to release four singles through Chess Club, including fan favourite Vampire Smile. Her sophomore record, produced by ‪@jakwob‬, was a dramatic departure from her first, showcased by lead single ‘Cut Your Teeth’, which premiered to widespread acclaim. A crystalline dream of minimal synths & percussive field-recordings over an unctuous wobbling bassline, the track made waves across the blogosphere & caught the attention of emerging DJ ‪@KygoMusic‬, who ripped the track from Soundcloud & remixed it. The Kygo remix was a huge success, and went on to be released by Kyla & Kygo together, amassing over 140 million streams on Spotify alone to date. La Grange was asked to tour as a vocalist with legendary British electronica group ‪@faithlesssound‬ for their 2.0 comeback tour, which saw a run of arena shows & European festival circuits, an experience she describes as, 'Completely awe-inspiring. Being part of something that huge, watching the way Blissy and Maxi hold the crowd in their hand, it taught me a lot.'
