Renaissance Orlando Airport - Standard Room

Room tour of a Standard Room of the Renaissance Orlando Airport. The hotel is located close to Orlando Interrnational Airport (shuttle to / from airport is available every 30 minutes). It is an older hotel clearly showing its age. The lobby of the Renaissance is quite large, thought lacks some ambiance. The check-in desks are to the left side. There are a number of conference and boarding rooms on the ground floor. Staff is friendly, but does go the extra mile (i.e. they do not offer proactive any status benefits, you have to ask). The hotel offers an outdoor pool, with jacuzzi and a small fitness-center. The Standard Rooms are older and clearly show their age, though okay regarding size. There is some wear and tear. This also applies to the spacious bathroon withb showe. A microwave and coffee machine is available. The desk has a couple of outlets and you can connect your Lasptop to the screen using older connector (which still work). The design of the room uses bright and light colours, which is nice. Ther room is a bit dark though, as the window is quite small. And the room is in need of a renovation. The mattress was too soft and one of the lamps on the nightstand did not work. The safe also did not work and needed to be replaced. This took an hour, during which I was unable to leave the room. A room change was not offered or even considered. A small club lounge (available from Sunday Evening till Friday Morning) is available to those with access or booking Club Rooms. The offering are very basic (skewers with dip and vegetables, cheese and some salami) in the evening and scrambled eggs, bacon, muffins, bagels, cream chesse in the morning. Lounge could be very busy and full. The pool is okay. Contrary the jacuzzi is very small. The fitness center is also small given the size of the hotel. Overall an okayisch hotel, if you need so stay there before or after a flight. (August 2024)
