Is This One Of Yorkshire’s Best Kept Secrets? It’s my first time visiting and I found it to be so wonderful. I love the history, the architecture, the fact that there’s both a canal, AND a river! I will 100% be visiting again. We started off by visiting Salts Mill. I took a walk around some of David Hockney’s beautiful art works followed by a lovely cup of tea. I then thought it would be nice to walk around the homeware shopping area, and the book shop before heading to the train station to have a sausage roll and a pasty from the local bakery. They were blooming delicious! Next we took a walk around the model village taking a look at the old school, the church, and the housing. All fabulous architecture, and again, tons of history. I will leave a link below for information on the model village’s history. We also wanted to talk a walk along the River Aire, and the canal which runs alongside the mill. To our absolute delight, we were surprised to find an otter frolicking around! It was very special. Finally we had a little walk across to Robert’s Park which had lots of green space, a cafe, and some nice statues to look at. It was an absolutely incredible day, and I’m so happy that I finally got the chance to explore the amazing Saltaire.
