Jan Tregeagle – Legend into History | Legends of Eternalia

"Thou hast found it easy to bring me from the grave... but thou wilt not find it so easy to put me away." This short cinematic is my interpretation of the ancient Cornish legend of Jan Tregeagle, respectfully reimagined within the world of Legends of Eternalia. In Eternalia, Jan was once a corrupt tax collector whose greed ruined countless lives. After his death, he is condemned to centuries of endless labour, repairing roads, clearing fallen trees, rebuilding walls and quietly helping the communities he once exploited. One night, at Dozy Mary Pool (I changed the names to fit my world), something far older than any ghost emerges from the dark waters... This scene is due to appear in Book 2 – The Gathering Storm, Chapter 6, and is also part of the forthcoming novella: Jan Tregeagle – A Millennial Penitence You may read it: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/178... Acknowledgements My sincere thanks to Cornwall Council / Konsel Kernow – Community Wellbeing / Sewena Kemenethek – Culture Team / Para Gonisogeth, and to members of the Cornish language community for their generous help with the Cornish translation and pronunciation used in this project. I'd also like to thank the Cornish community on Reddit for their encouragement, advice and passion for preserving Cornish folklore and language. Meur ras! Legends of Eternalia is an original fantasy universe inspired by mythology, folklore and ancient legends from many cultures. My intention is never to rewrite these traditions, but to honour them by bringing their spirit into a new fictional world. — Alejandro Munilla #JanTregeagle #Cornwall #Cornish #Folklore #Celtic #LegendsOfEternalia #DarkFantasy #Fantasy #GhostStory #Mythology #DozmaryPool #ShortFilm
