Aaj a Ki Ta'leem * Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام : From preparations to patience https://emasjidlive.co.uk/recordings/... بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي تَوَاضَعَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ لِعَظَمَتِهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي ذَلَّ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ لِعِزَّتِهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَضَعَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ لِمُلْكِهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي اِسْتَسْلَمَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ لِقُدْرَتِهِ اللهم صل على محمد وعلى ال محمد و بارك وسلم اما بعد أَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعۡىَ قَالَ يٰبُنَىَّ اِنِّىۡۤ اَرٰى فِى الۡمَنَامِ اَنِّىۡۤ اَذۡبَحُكَ فَانْظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرٰى‌ؕ قَالَ يٰۤاَبَتِ افۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُ‌ سَتَجِدُنِىۡۤ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الصّٰبِرِيۡنَ (102) Translation: Thereafter, when he reached an age in which he could work with him, he said, " my little son, I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you, so consider, what do you think? "He said, " my dear father, do what you have been ordered to do. You will find me, inshaAllah, (if Allah wills) one of those who endure patiently." In Surah 37, ayah 102, we learn that Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام) was already prepared to fulfill the command of Allah. However, he first put the matter before his beloved son in order to prepare him for what was to come. This reflects the method of the Prophets: they prepare the ground before planting the seeds. If Prophet Ibrahim had suddenly begun to slaughter Prophet Ismail (عليه السلام), it would have caused shock and distress. Instead, he spoke to his beloved son with love, affection, and thoughtfulness, presenting the matter in a way that would help him understand the situation and be mentally prepared. When the son replied, “Do what you have been commanded,” it showed that the ground had been prepared. All that remained was to fulfill the command of Allah. The final portion of the verse also holds important lessons for us, particularly the use of the phrase “Insha’Allah.” This means that we strive to do our best using all the resources available to us, yet we still say “Insha’Allah,” acknowledging that the completion of any action ultimately depends on the will of Allah تعالى. In other words, whenever we plan or promise something, we should say “Insha’Allah.” This helps shift our focus from the resources themselves to the Creator of those resources—Allah تعالى. Furthermore, the beloved son, Ismail (عليه السلام), teaches us humility through his words “من الصابرين” (among the patient). He did not say, “You will find me patient,” but rather, “You will find me among the patient.” This shows that he placed himself among others who possess patience, rather than elevating himself above them. We should adopt this same humility. When inviting others towards Allah, we should see ourselves as part of a larger group striving in this effort—not as individuals who are uniquely correct or superior. Recognizing that others are also engaged in this work fosters humility and encourages us to continue striving, regardless of the circumstances. we ask Allah Ta'ala to grant us all the ability to practice upon what we have heard.
