But it is in lucid dreams that we will awaken the incredible power and potential of dream life. In them, you become aware that you are dreaming, and you can learn to have control over what happens within the dream, opening a door to exploring the mind, consciousness, the universe, and the nature of reality. We realize that the mind creates the content of the dream, that we can change and manipulate it, which opens our perception to how our mind also creates part of the reality we perceive in waking life. Lucid dreams have fascinated both researchers and spiritual figures. These meditations are built on the work of Stephen LaBerge, who researched lucid dreaming at Stanford University, and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, who brought the Tibetan tradition of lucid dreaming to the West. Some improvements that can be achieved with lucid dreaming: 1. Overcome recurring nightmares 2. Facing and overcoming fears and phobias 3. Solve problems you're stuck on 3. Increase your creativity for art, science, or teaching. 4. Explore the subconscious and self-knowledge 5. Reduce anxiety and stress 6. Increase your self-confidence 7. Learn and practice new skills 8. Practice difficult situations before they happen in reality (for example, practicing a speech you have to give). 9.
