It’s been over a year since we bought a 50-year-old Swedish sailboat and started boat life, so here’s a review of what it’s really like to get started. (  / wildweroam  ) We recap most of the big events of 12 months, from boat work and repairs to learning how to sail with ZERO experience. It’s been a wild year for sure, and 2020 was definitely a challenging year unlike any other. Our ultimate dream is to liveaboard our 35ft Hallberg Rassy Rasmus 35 full-time, circumnavigate the earth, explore alternative, off-gride ways of living, and sail to beautiful remote islands, but this year was all about laying the foundation for that epic journey. Boat Life has a ton of pros and cons, and we’ll cover our 5 favorite and least favorite parts of the lifestyle, though to be fair it’s really more like 95 percent amazing and 5 percent challenging.
