Spanning 29.2 km, it links Marine Drive in South Mumbai to Kandivali in the northern suburbs, significantly reducing travel time from nearly two hours to just 40 minutes. A key highlight of this project is India’s first undersea tunnel, a 2.07 km twin tunnel passing beneath the Arabian Sea between Marine Drive and Priyadarshini Park. The eight-lane expressway is expected to handle over 130,000 vehicles daily, easing congestion on major arterial roads. Additionally, the project includes a 7.5 km sea-facing promenade from Priyadarshini Park to Haji Ali, featuring jogging and cycling tracks along with green recreational spaces.
