Fix Your Sinking Desk Chair Permanently | Easy DIY Fix In the video, I showed how to fix a sinking chair. I stopped the chair from sinking. ✅ This happens because the gas cylinder that supports the chair wears out. Since the gases in the cylinder are under pressure, they escape, causing your chair to slowly sink. When I was looking for a solution to the problem, I couldn't find good solution anywhere, which I came up with, and I believe it is the best one. 😅 I have seen that people often use hose clamps. That is an awful solution and makes the chair look ugly. 🤢 Hose clamps are not even that strong; they are thin and can easily bend or break. Then I have seen people use adhesive tapes, which again make the chair look awful. I wouldn't keep such a chair in my office. And don't even get me started on the durability and quality of adhesive tapes... 😒 I've seen some people drill holes in the cylinders and insert screws, and I've also seen others use metal pipes as supports. 🤔 Those are quite durable solutions, but those people used drills and grinders, and many people don't have those tools. Not to mention it requires more time and effort to repair the chair that way. I was surprised that no one else had thought of what occurred to me. 1) My solution cost less than $1 2) I didn't use any tools 3) It takes just a few minutes to complete the whole repair 4) It's not visible on the chair that anything has been done 5) The chair is permanently fixed and can no longer sink I repaired my chair in August 2023, and I'm publishing this video in June 2024. It's been almost a year, and the chair is functioning exactly the same as the day I repaired it. For my repair, I used washers. I bought 50 pieces. I placed the washers on the gas cylinder so that now I'm essentially sitting on the washers, and the gases in the cylinder no longer serve any purpose.
