Roman Padlewski - Stabat Mater for mixed choir (1939)
Performed by Polish Radio Choir, conducts Bronisława Wietrzny. Roman Padlewski (1915 -1944) was a Polish composer. Many of his works, including two string quartets and a violin concerto, were lost during war. He was fighting in Warsaw Uprising. Died in 1944, from shot, in age 29. Stabat Mater for mixed choir a cappella is the last pre-war piece by Padlewski. It's his the most mature work. Picture: Pieta of Tubądzin, circa 1450
