2022 XC - Woodbridge 52 (Boys, SWEEPS)

Three of the nation's top 10 teams came in for this one and the surprising winner was our old friend Doug Soles, now at Herriman in Utah. Herriman is now ranked in the top 5 with this win. Less surprising is the runner-up performance from the Oregon 5A State Champions led by senior Tyrone Gorze. Traditional power Southlake Carroll had some nice team packing with only 40 places separating their #1 and #5. That spread is particularly impressive in a crowded field. As a measure against last year on a different course, 2021 top 4 times (all Newbury Park) were 13:38 - 13:48. Of that crew, only Aaron ran it this year. This may have been a rust-buster for him.
