Kuresoi MP Alfred Mutai released on cash bail over violent clashes

Kuresoi MP Alfred Mutai has been released on cash bail after being arraigned over violent clashes that left 3 people injured. Mutai surrendered himself to officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations  on Monday evening and was detained at the Nakuru police station. Earlier in the day there was chaos at the station, as supporters of the legislator assembled at the station demanding his release or arraignment. The MP is suspected of involvement in violent clashes and a shooting incident that left multiple people injured during a youth empowerment event in his constituency.
