Salita al colle e Laghi Frudiere da Graines in Bassa Val d'Ayas, Valle d'Aosta

A climb into a beautiful valley in the lower Val d'Ayas, starting from the small but charming village of Graines (also famous for its castle of the same name). The route initially follows a simple and easy dirt road, then enters a magnificent forest. The surrounding landscape is truly breathtaking, and the climb to the lakes and pass is not particularly difficult. A bit steeper in the final section, but nothing major (be careful, however, during certain times of the year, when there are still remnants of avalanches and slides in the section connecting the Lower and Upper Lakes). It's worth a visit for its incredible beauty, starting with the very first, tiny lake (the Contiguo, which is just before the Lower Lake) and continuing on. From the Upper Lake to the pass, the distance is truly short. Once we reach the pass, we're at the watershed with the Gressoney Valley above Gaby. Today's group was very large, and everyone was very good, as always, especially...hahahaha...as usual, during the final toast and aperitif.
