Abu josh: BETON Sessions

על ההרכב של יהושע לוי AKA אבו ג׳וש, שמעתי מכל מני חברים ונגנים שפגשתי. כשהגיעו אליי למייל הקלטות מג׳וש עם בקשה להגיע ללייב סשן ב-BETON הבנתי למה. החיבור של מוזיקה צפון אפריקאית וג׳אז בלטו מיד בזמן שהאזנתי למוסיקה שלו ולמגוון הכלים שמנגנים אותה. כשנפגשנו, ג'וש סיפר לי שהוא גדל על מוזיקה צפון אפריקאית שליוותה את ילדותו לצד מוזיקת היפ-הופ שהיה רוקד לצליליה בתור נער. שני סגנונות אלו הובילו אותו להוקיר את האנרגיה והתנועה המתמדת שלוקחת את המאזין בין מרחבי זמן במעין טראנס סוחף, ולשאוף ליצור את התחושה הזו בשילוב הסגנונות שהוא יוצר בעצמו. העיבודים באבו ג׳וש מתחלקים בין קטעים אותם כתב וקטעים מהמקורות אליהם הוא מתחבר ונוטה לעבד בצורות מקוריות ומפתיעות. יהושע לוי: פסנתר ועיבודים אביתר מורד: כינור ברך, עוד בר גבע: קונטרבס מתן דרעי: תופים אריאל סמית׳: כלי הקשה אינסטגרם:   / joshee_kf   פייסבוק:   / josheelevy   Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3nCDD... The coming together of North-African music and Jazz immediately popped out while I was listening. When we met, Josh told me he grew up listening to North-African Music and loved dancing while listening to Hip-Hop. These to ganrese led him to admire the energy and the intense movement within music that can take the listener to a certain trans, and so he seeks to create that movement in his own creation. The compositions at “Abu Josh” are divided into pieces that he wrote and segments from the scriptures which Joshua deeply relates to and tends to arrange them in original ways.
