Harri Vuori - The Hour of the Wolf (Aleksander Stachowski - accordion)
Live performance at the "Eufonija Festival" 2017 in Novi Sad (Serbia). The composer note on the piece: "The name of the work is probably familiar at least to dream analysts, since it refers to the hour of the night when the vital functions are at their lowest ebb and sleep is most profound; to the time when impulses buried deep in the subconscious are released from the labyrinth of the mind. The subject ties in with my composition (admittedly abstractly) in that both the light, mobile motifs and the slower, lyrical passages are gradually force to give way to a repetitive texture repeatedly rising from the depths. After several attempts to assert its presence before merging with the other material, it build up to a mighty climax that undoubtedly makes heavy demands on both the technique and the physical resources of the performers".
