Prof. Lynne Bowker on SCOPING REVIEWS AND SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS IN TRANSLATIONS TUDIES RESEARCH

Translation Studies has a strong foundation in the Humanities, where narrative literature reviews are widely used. However, as research is becoming increasingly interdisciplinary, methods from other disciplines are also gaining traction. This webinar will provide an introduction to scoping reviews and systematic reviews, two types of literature review that originated in health research, but which are increasingly being applied in other disciplines, including Translation Studies. Unlike narrative reviews, scoping and systematic reviews require researchers to follow a strict reporting protocol, and teamwork is strongly encouraged. Prof. Bowker explains the main characteristics of and steps in scoping and systematic reviews, introducees the PRISMA and PRISMA-ScR protocols, and provides some examples and tips.
