Making a Tenant Doggone Mad
The plaintiff says he planned to rent a room in the defendant’s home but never moved in and now can’t get his deposit back. He is suing for the return of his deposit. The defendant says the plaintiff agreed to rent a room and pay an extra $100 a month because he had a large dog. A few days later, the plaintiff told him he was looking at other places because the price was too high. The defendant argues that deposits are nonrefundable, and that’s the end of it.
