One Life to Live 5/10/1991

Clint starts to tell Viki about some mistake or bad decisions he made in the early days of his illness when he was driven to distraction, but Cord interrupts to bring good news and a special edition of The Banner. Cord tells them the strike has been settled. Max tells LeeAnn he’s struggling with the decision to either stay a Holden or become a Buchanan. She asks whether the parents who raised him would be offended, but he says they both died. He thanks her for her help and her sympathetic ear with a kiss on the cheek. When Megan turns around after popping out of the cake, Jake makes Lucky turn off the music. Megan feigns anger over the hoots and hollers of the men in attendance, but she isn’t actually angry at Jake. She invites the other women from her bridal shower to join the men at the party. Andy seems jealous when she sees Hunter flirting with Blaine. Alex and Bo celebrate the end of the strike with a makeout session in Clint’s office. Rika brings them a copy of the latest Intruder edition, which features a cover photo of Bo and Alex and a salacious story about the pair. Renee tells DuAnn that she thinks Asa may be stronger than they thought, having survived Clint almost dying. She threatens to tell Asa herself that Max may not be his son. Before she can follow through on the threat, Max and Al announce that they have something important to tell Asa. They say they’re taking the Buchanan name; Al says he’s going to have the same name as grandma and grandpa. Renee watches the whole proceeding with a pained look on her face. When Viki asks Clint what he was going to tell her before, he says he made some questionable investment decisions, and they pretty much have no investment portfolio anymore. If the Banner folds or they can’t pay back the mortgage on it, they will be totally broke. Viki isn’t thrilled, but she says after everything they’ve been through, they will get through this together too. Megan doesn’t seem too amused by the various gag gifts Jake’s friends gave him. The discussion spirals into the two arguing loudly in front of their guests, rehashing all their petty grievances and annoyances. The fight ends with Megan saying the wedding is off and Jake agreeing.
