The LA Praise Network is a full power digital urban religious TV network covering most of the Los Angeles Basin which stretches from the Pacific Ocean to the San Bernardino Mountains. The Black-owned station is available to nearly 16 million people via regular digital TV or analog TVs with a digital converter box. The LA Praise Network, a new urban religious 1V network servicing the Greater Los Angeles area, is the brainchild of its founder and CEO, Gregg Bynum. One day while surfing the Los Angeles channels looking for urban religious programming, he noticed many ethnicities in this melting pot were represented except the African­ American community. It was then the Lord inspired him to mortgage one of his real estate investments and pull the money to start the network. "The Lord was telling us to do something to reach the folk in LA," said the certified public accountant who practiced his craft in Sacramento for more than 10 years. "In 1995 I quit my job cold turkey and came to the LA community of Watts to work with the youth. My father already had a ministry there that included helping youth find jobs and providing food for people in that community." Creating the LA Praise Network is just an extension of that work. The network first debuted on October 1, 2014 as the Lighthouse Praise Network. "My father started the Lighthouse Church of God in Christ in LA. The name was given through prophecy," says Bynum. "The Lighthouse Praise Network was named in honor of my parents. Since then, we have decided to re brand the network as the LA Praise Network: The Lighthouse of Southern California because our reach goes far beyond LA, but to the San Bernardino Mountains."
