Many Christians harbor the image of a harsh God who primarily judges and punishes. However, Sunday's readings lead us to a much deeper discovery: God's justice is never separated from patience, mercy, and care for humanity. In this episode, Dominika Szczawińska talks with Sister Joanna Nowińska, a biblical scholar, about the parable of the weeds among the wheat and why Jesus doesn't encourage us to immediately "pull up the weeds." What does God's patience really mean? Why does God allow time for growth and conversion? And how should we understand the difficult passages in the Gospel that speak of judgment, weeping, and gnashing of teeth?
