How to build a custom ATC 70 without starting with a Honda ATC 70!! BREAK OUT YOUR WALLET!
When I was building my white fender "Mini R" ATC 70 to match my white fender 85 ATC 250R, I was documenting the build on TikTok and Instagram, as well as YouTube of course. Well, one day on Instagram, a gentleman reached out to me and asked if I would sell it. Well, my knee jerk reaction was heck no! Mainly because the carbon fiber white fenders are a special order item and I didn't want to have to start of from square one to build another. So I politely told the guy no, I couldn't bring myself to do that... to which he replied "would you build me one??" So, I noticed the guy had a blue checkmark next to his name, but I didn't recognize his name. So, I googled it and... wow... ok, that's who that is!? So I told him, yes sir, I can build you one. We talked about what he was after and when he needed it by and, before you knew it, I was ordering parts fast and furious! So like the title describes, this was built without a donor ATC 70. How do you do that? Well, the main thing most these custom 70 builds are starting with is an ATC 70 frame... so to get around that, you buy one of the AWESOME all aluminum frames from Jean Dusport up in Canada (Link - https://www.jeandusport.shop/ ) I went with a 3" stretch in the backbone, and 3" stretch out the back at the carrier. We needed that extra length to help control the Daytona 190 motor I bought from Gordon Spangler at www.hondaatc70.com where we also got a lot of extra parts like the billet hubs and axle sleeves, the exhaust, cables, carb... I'm sure I'm forgetting something. The fenders are red "Mini R" style ATC 70 fenders from Maier USA. The forks are slick and the sexiest option out there. They're made by Johnny Angal - www.utvinc.com and they're super slick. The rims are race cut aluminum rims that Jonathan Honnerlaw has made in batches. You have to find him on Facebook. The decals are custom from Bruce Alleman at www.bluelinedecals.com. The seat and bar pad are from Cascade ATV Seats - Find them on facebook. Kevin consistently knocks it out of the freaking park!!! And lastly... you need an axle to drive this whole deal.... and you can find brand new reproductions from Brett Jordan on Facebook. And the foot pegs and gas cap were from www.jjsmachine.com But... beware... you're going to have to dip pretty heavy into the piggy bank!!! But it'll be sick!!! Hope you like the build!! #custom #expensive #awesome
