Beyond The Field Of Forgetting - Part 2: Those who returned

Long ago, when a sacred world collapsed, countless souls were cast into the Field of Forgetting — a boundless realm where memories slowly fade away. With each passing age, the wanderers forgot their names, their pasts, and eventually even the things they once loved. Some were drawn toward the Endless Abyss, a place of eternal darkness where those who fall are erased from space and time itself, as though they had never existed. Yet hidden deep within some hearts, a small spark of goodness remained. To save these lost souls, an angel volunteered to descend into the Field of Forgetting. Wrapped in holy power, he entered the realm knowing its law could not be avoided. Like all who came before him, he lost his memories and became another nameless wanderer. Ages passed before a divine seal upon his forehead was awakened by the Father, restoring his purpose. As if waking from a dream, he remembered why he had come: to guide the souls who still carried goodness within their hearts back toward the light of Heaven. He wandered across the endless field, warning others that pride, selfishness, and evil thoughts would ultimately lead them toward the Endless Abyss ahead. Many mocked him, cursed him, rejected him, or drove him away, believing only in themselves. Yet a small number were moved by his compassion and chose to follow him. In the end, the angel led those willing to change toward the Gate of Infinity, where remembrance and hope awaited, while countless others continued proudly toward the Abyss, never realizing what they were about to lose. [Verse 1] Before the stars forgot their names, Before the endless wandering came, A messenger of Heaven's light Descended through the silent sky. Wrapped in grace and clothed in flame, He crossed the gate without a name. For every soul who entered there Would lose the memories they shared. And so he fell like all the rest, Into the field of endless mist. Another traveler on the road, Another heart without a home. [Verse 2] The years went by like drifting sand, No past to hold, no guiding hand. He walked beneath forgotten skies, Not knowing who he was inside. Around him countless spirits roamed, Searching paths that led to none. Some chased shadows in the grey, Some forgot why they walked each day. Yet somewhere deep beneath the veil, A sleeping light refused to fail. [Pre-Chorus] Then one day through the silent air, A holy touch was waiting there. A seal of light upon his brow Awoke the truth he carries now. [Chorus] Remember who you are inside, Remember what the dark may hide. Beyond the fear, beyond the pain, The light is calling once again. Do not trade your soul away, For shadows that will never stay. There is a road beyond the night, There is a gate beyond the light. [Verse 3] So now he walked from soul to soul, Trying to heal what time had stole. Some laughed and turned their heads away, Some cursed the words he'd come to say. Some raised their hands to drive him out, Certain they had found the route. Yet still he spoke with gentle eyes, Still he warned of darker skies. A selfish heart will lose its way, The abyss is waiting just ahead. [Bridge] But among the noise and endless pride, A few still felt a spark inside. A few remembered warmth and grace, A distant light, a forgotten place. They rose and walked beside the guide, Leaving empty roads behind. And step by step their hearts began To remember who they truly were. [Final Chorus] Remember who you are inside, Remember what the dark may hide. The light has never left your soul, It waits for you to come back home. Beyond the mist, beyond the years, Beyond the sorrow and the tears, The Gate of Infinity remains, Beyond the loss, beyond the chains. [Ending Choir] Some followed him toward the Gate beyond the night. Others walked smiling into the Abyss, never knowing what they had lost.
