False imprisonment is the third of the intentional torts in a 1L torts class. To prove a prima facie case for false imprisonment the plaintiff must show the defendant intentionally acted to place him in a physically bounded space, he was aware of the confinement, and no reasonable means of escape existed. We define the subject, examine its critical pieces, and go over a few examples. It relies heavily upon the Restatement (Second) of Torts to substantiate its information. Use it to reinforce what you've learned in class or to review for an exam. Please 'like,' share and subscribe.
