BUILDING BOOM IN MANCHESTER | Manctopia's new towers have no height restrictions but...

The aim is appeal to my audience based in the Manchester area and North West England, and to provide topical content about the UK that's not too difficult for people all over the world who are learning English. Manchester has been seen an extraordinary building boom in recent years. Construction in Manchester is around ten times the national average, according to the Office of National Statistics. Building regulations are less restrictive than other parts of the UK. There are no height restrictions. The city's planners give the developers a large amount of freedom The newest towers will be much higher than the previous ones though they are not as tall as those in New York! I mention a BBC documentary called 'Manc-topia', which takes a behind the scenes look at today's ‘makers of Manchester’. I have put the following questions at the end of the video. How will the new Manchester look? Will all income groups have a share in it? Will the new ‘Manc-hattan’ be a place where people will want to stay or will they later move out into the suburbs to live in a house? How long will the construction boom last?
