Replacing A Droplink On My SEAT Leon Cupra

Replacing A Droplink On My SEAT Leon Cupra Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. Earlier this month I had 'Leo" my Mk2 SEAT Leon Cupra in at the garage to do some investigation work. Whilst he was in there I had him health checked and it turned out one of the boots on the offside (driver's side) droplink had split. This is an MOT failure so it needed addressing, especially as the MOT was due... So I thought I'd roll up my sleeves and do it myself. Just a quick disclaimer, this is NOT a how to video, and I'm NOT a trained mechanic. However, if you happen to learn something new that's an added bonus! What is a droplink? Also referred to as a stabiliser link, it' connect the anti-roll bar to the suspension strut for better...erm, stability. The reason why a split boot is an MOT failure is because a split will cause the grease to escape, which runs the risk of the ball joint getting dry. If the joint gets dry it could seize, thus making the component fail.
