Full flight review of EGYPTAIR flight MS748 from ATHENS (ATH) to CAIRO (CAI) ATHENS After a short but very pleasant summer trip to Athens, we flew to Cairo, where we spent a few days and visited the main itineraries of the Egyptian capital. This was my first experience with EGYPTAIR, I had never flown with them before. That’s why I was a bit excited to make this flight. We stayed a couple of nights near the Acropolis, so for the transfer to the airport we opted for the metro. TRANSFER FROM ATHENS TO THE AIRPORT From Athens city center we reached the airport by the Metro. The transfer was comfortable and relatively quick (it took approx. 40 minutes). The airport metro station is located a 5-minute walk from the main terminals. The station building is connected to the main terminal via an elevated passageway. THE FLIGHT The flight was pleasant, with a beautiful panorama. The Greek landscapes is simply amazing: many islands, surrounded by the deep blue of the Aegean Sea. Lunch was served about half an hour after takeoff: beef stew with potatoes in sauce, mixed salad, bread, butter, and a piece of brownie cake (plastic cutlery). It wasn't bad. I ate it all 😊 The cabin crew was nice and helpful, nothing to say about that. Shortly after lunch we started flying over the Nile Delta. Approaching Cairo airport, the landscape dramatically changed in just few minutes: from the green countryside of the Nile Delta to the bare raw desert that surrounds the Egyptian capital. Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the country's largest city, home to 10 million people. However, The Greater Cairo metropolitan area, with a population of 22.1 million, is the largest urban agglomeration in Africa and the Middle East. An urban area that seems to never end, IMPRESSIVE. We landed smoothly at Cairo International Airport at 14:59 (local time), 11 minutes before scheduled arrival time. FLIGHT DETAILS Aircraft: Boeing B737-866, Reg.
