CANANEA, SONORA 🇲🇽 | La tierra del COBRE y lugar donde se encuentra el OBSERVATORIO.

In this chapter, we visit one of the main municipalities of Sonora: Cananea, Sonora. Cananea's main economic activity is mining, with copper being one of its principal mineral products. Its mines were discovered in 1760, and in 1762, Cananea was originally inhabited by Pima Indians. It wasn't until 1899 that Cananea gained greater importance when William C. Green founded the Cananea Consolidated Copper Company. From this point on, the mining company established certain places so that its workers could enjoy their time in Cananea. The rest is history, and in this video, we'll tell you about each of these places founded by this company and visit one of the places where much of the universe is studied and explored: the Cananea Observatory.
