可以不爱，但不要伤害，每个生命都值得敬畏！ You can not love, please do not hurt, every life deserves to be honored Meefah Animal Shelter was originally founded by animal lover Auntie Meefah in 2015. Due to old age and a long-term illness, unfortunately, Auntie Meefah passed away in 2019. The shelter was taken over by a dedicated volunteer Mr Yong. The shelter was then registered as a Non-Profit organization in the same year under the Registry of Societies of Malaysia to continue its operation. The shelter is operated under the “Selangor Furry Future Association” (Persatuan Penjagaan Anjing dan Kucing Liar Selangor). It has a “No-Kill Policy”. Meefah Animal Shelter is located in Semenyih, home to approximately 2000 animals which are strays, abandoned, unwanted, abused, and surrendered. It is very tough managing a large shelter. A lifetime commitment to give aid and shelter to unwanted animals that is entirely funded by donations from the public’s generosity. Future Plans Stray-Free State (Selangor) Meefah Homeless Animal Shelter has assisted many independent rescuers in facilitating space after rescuing strays. Sometimes to absorb medical expenses as well. This is an ongoing problem with strays on the streets. Kind animal lovers will feed the animals daily with their resources. These local feeders prevent stray animals in extreme hunger from becoming anxious due to the lack of food, these dogs could arrive at the point of fiercely attacking each other or eating puppies to survive. Due to financial restraints, most of them cannot afford to neuter/spay these stray animals. Hence, the population of strays remained high. Our shelter planned to carry out a CNVR (capture-neuter-vaccination-release) program for all strays who live on the territory, starting off in Klang. CNVR stray’s ear will be tagged and live-free. They are properly neutered/spayed and have been vaccinated against rabies, and medical treatments when necessary. For this program, ideally to work with local councils for such the said program in multiple locations. It is important to support this program to reduce stray animal populations.
