The life of Nawal, a baker who has worked for three years in a bakery in Alfafar (Valencia), changed radically after the DANA storm, which left her bakery submerged in mud. With unusable machinery, destroyed ovens, and the fruits of her labor reduced to rubble, Nawal considered giving up. “I told my husband I couldn’t go on,” she confesses. However, the unexpected arrival of neighbors and volunteers gave her back her strength. Her bakery was transformed into a center of support for her community, providing food and essential supplies. Nawal is not only fighting to rebuild her business but also to keep hope alive in her neighborhood. She continues to distribute bread to her neighbors. With donations, tireless work, and a deep commitment to her community, this story is not just about a bakery, but about a community that refuses to surrender to adversity.
