Nation's Second Highest Award Presented to Marine
Navy Cross is awarded to a Parris Island Drill Instructor for action in Afghanistan. During the Parris Island Graduation Ceremony held on February 24, 2006, SSgt Anthony L. Viggiani was presented the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism in action against the Anti-Coalition Force Militia in Zabol Province, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom on June 3, 2004.
