Eduard Artemyev / Zhanna Rozhdestvenskaya - Где ты (funk/synth/prog, Russia USSR, 1985)

An unreleased track from the Soviet Union, recorded in 1985. The brilliant synth‑rock suite Warmth of Earth / Тепло Земли by the legendary composer Eduard Artemyev was recorded that same year and released on LP, featuring the exceptionally talented vocalist Zhanna Rozhdestvenskaya (Жанна Рождественская). This funky and playful piece of progressive music was likely intended to be part of the suite, but for unknown reasons never made it onto the album. The lyrics—just like the rest of the suite—were written by the Chukchi poet Yuri Rytkheu. Perhaps Artemyev felt it didn’t quite fit?
