Thirty flex-head ratchets from 12 brands, ranging from $10 Pittsburgh models to nearly $200 Snap-on and Matco ratchets—but price has very little to do with which ones are worth buying. I compare 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch flex-head ratchets from Pittsburgh, ICON, Koken, Snap-on, Matco, Stahlwille, TONE, GearWrench, Capri, Tekton, Olsa Tools, and DieHard. We look at head size, flex and locking mechanisms, backdrag, pricing, warranties, and overall value to determine which ratchets are buys—and which ones are easy skips.
